『ヴィータ』は、ノースカンタベリーの新鋭、Will Bowmanが2019年にわずか1000本のワインからスタートしたワイナリー。「Living vineyards make living wines!」を信条にエネルギーに満ち溢れたワインを手掛けることを最も大切にしています。

食に対する非常に強い興味と愛情を持つウィルは、レストラン、フードライターを経てワイン造りを志向し、リンカーン大学で栽培と醸造を学びました。卒業後はオーガニックとバイオダイナミックで名高いグレイストーンとミルトンで研鑽を重ね、low intervention（抑制した人的介入）の栽培醸造にのめり込んでいきました。その後にイタリアへ渡り、オレク・ボンドニオと共にバルバレスコで最も品質の高い、いくつかのオーガニックヴィンヤードで栽培を経験しました。

2019年に帰国し、国内随一のオーガニック及びバイオダイナミックに取り組む、ナチュラルなワイン造りで注目を集めるブラックエステートのヴィンヤードマネージャーに就任。マネージャーを務めながら、自身のブランド「Vita」を立ち上げます。生き生きとした多様性を持つヴィンヤードの葡萄から、エネルギッシュで明るく生命力に溢れたワイン造りへの理解を深め、ウィルの栽培と醸造に対しての哲学が、ここで確固たるものとなります。2023年現在もブラックエステートのヴィンヤードマネージャーを務めていますが、Vitaの成長に伴い、まもなく自身のブランドに注力できるよう移行します。

Vitaでは葡萄の持つエネルギーをいかにダイレクトにワインに反映するかを重要視しており、葡萄には慎重に純粋さを求め、無濾過、無清澄で、SO2を含む添加物は不使用です。

【Tasting Notes & Winemaking】
ノースカンタベリーのオミヒに位置する、ビオグロ認証を受けたグレイストーンのリースリングを使用。

土壌は粘土とライムストーン。手摘みで収穫し、全房で12日間のスキンコンタクトと、20ヶ月の澱との熟成を経てボトリング。無濾過、無清澄でSO2は不使用です。
